Partners in the USAID Aceh Road/Bridge Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Project are working together as a team to rebuild the highway that was devastated by the tsunami that hit the west coast of Aceh on December 26, 2004.  The new road will serve as the economic backbone of the region. Through cooperation between USAID and its partners, the Indonesian National Government and local governments, the project is supporting the future development of Aceh.

The mission of the Aceh Road Project is to bring to Aceh the highest standards and quality in all aspects of operations.  This includes community engagement and dialogue, environmental management and monitoring, in addition to assuring the safety, security and the well being of workers. This vision is shared by all members of the project.
